How to move from implementer to advisor & get paid more

implementer-to-advisor

Have you ever thought about what you could get paid if you did more activities as an advisor than an implementer?

The reality is that offering higher level strategic advice that allows others to implement themselves can be lucrative.

Imagine this scenario …

You are a trainer and you train someone for 3 hours per week so 12 hours for the month. You might be able to charge $100 at the high end (you’ve been doing this a long time) but not a lot more than that because there’s probably a limit to what your clients would pay consistently per month.

Think about how effective you can be if you were able to distill all of your knowledge in a methodology that would help people carry out the plan on their own. Add some coaching and check-ins (3 hours worth) on that and you are essentially helping them get to the same place with way less time involved.

You might not charge $1,200 per month but you can charge $600 per month and you have room for twice as many clients.

You’ve essentially just doubled your rate. Doesn’t that sound nice?

It doesn’t mean that there is no room in the world for people who are implementers but you have a lot of experience and knowledge. You have methodologies that work. You can leave the implementing for other people and become an advisor.

In this video I give you the three questions to help you extract your methodology and how to communicate what you do. It’s a critical step to becoming an advisor. It requires knowing what you do that important, unique and that works.

Watch it here:

Which question brought out the most important details in your work?

  1. What are the one time achievements that you help your clients reach?
  2. What are the consistent actions (systems) your clients will need to take to reach their goals?
  3. What are the kinds of questions your clients ask when they are working with you?
