My 100th episode - 10 lessons I’ve learned since starting the Scaling Deep podcast

Today we reach a huge milestone - 100 episodes of the Scaling Deep podcast! I’ve learned so much from hosting this podcast over the last few years (and I really wanted to mark this occasion), so I’ve decided to share ten of the lessons I’ve learned about business, relationships, and podcasting while hosting Scaling Deep.

I won’t spoil the lessons for you, but I will say that I’m more glad than ever that I started my podcast. The relationships that have come out of it have been more than enough to justify the decision to put myself out there and start the show. All of the validation, experimentation and momentum that have come along too have been unexpected but incredible bonuses.

In this episode I’ll share what I’ve learned about building relationships with peers and clients through podcasting and how the medium has helped me evolve my business. I’ll also talk about how it’s helped me validate my brand, test new ideas and get comfortable with experimentation and failure. And I’ll discuss why a podcast was the perfect way for me to start really showing up with my content and how I hope to keep this going for many episodes to come.

Thanks so much for being part of the journey - I’d love to hear from you, so come say hi on Instagram if you want to chat!

What You’ll Learn from this Episode:

  • Why my belief that relationships are the most important thing in business has only been strengthened by doing this podcast.
  • How I’ve evolved my perspective on the importance of having a unique value proposition, positioning yourself clearly & getting validation for your ideas.
  • How my podcast has helped me show up more consistently in my content and helped me develop my leadership, relationships and brand.
  • Why I’ve had to get a lot more comfortable with failure & moving quickly.
  • What a short-term purpose - like an event, summit, or other project - can do to help you keep your work and your ideas fresh.
  • Why there’s no such thing as passive income and what I’ve learned from all the incredible businesses I’ve seen behind the scenes over the past 100 episodes.

Hey there. I know what it's like to try and fail over and over again. I've been through all the mindset ups and downs, feeling like a failure and wondering why it's so hard to attract amazing clients consistently.

I finally realized, more recently that I'd like to admit, I was still hiding. I was afraid to put my work into the world in case no one wanted it. What I really wanted was for someone to say, "hey you, your stuff is great, come share it with my audience".  Finally I realized that that would never happen, not until I started first.

Putting out my content and message into the world had to begin with me. I  committed to showing up consistently and building my own meaningful relationships. The result? Much more clarity about how to gain visibility and grow my brand. And, of course, THIS PODCAST which I'm thrilled to host!
