In this episode I share my million dollar roadmap. Even if you're not quite there yet, have a listen because it’s actually a more doable than you might believe. I also share some of the things that need to be in place to do it successfully and with confidence. Because I think that's what it really takes -  confidence, determination, desire and vision.

One:  Simplify your Service
The first step of this six in your million dollar roadmap is simplifying your services. Now this is also a step that has to be in place for the business owner at any level. If you are beyond the freelancing phase, doing whatever anybody wants, and having no real ability to systematize it or create repeatable results, and it's draining you might be ready to get beyond customizing everything & offer only a couple of services.

Simplifying your offers will also help you define your mission and message your why. This is the  catchy messaging, that excites people and that drives a personal service brand.

When you know what you care about, you're ready to say & deliver, you can attract more people to your offers and brand.

Two: Finalize your frameworks.
I believe any entrepreneur who does not want to be a freelancer or consulting 100% of the time needs to have a signature framework. This framework or system becomes the container for your body of work.

Figuring out what you stand for, what you do, and how you really help people is key to this work.

The challenge is to stick with that and not try to offer too many things and lengthen your scope of work too broadly. That's what's going to make all the difference in your ability to scale. Spend more time curating your signature framework so that all your content falls within that all your messaging falls within that. You're supposed to be repeatable. You're supposed to be saying the same things over and over again.

Three:  Start the team
You've got to free up your time for this stuff that really matters and that is being the visionary in the business, growing, doing sales, building the audience, getting out there and also just like deciding on new programs or evolving old ones. You've got to pay attention to what your clients are craving, what's happening in your business.

As the leader at the helm, you've also got to be making industry connections and need room in your schedule to do that.

One important way to free yourself up is to hire one person at a fairly high level. So that's the risk part. Your first significant hire is more than just hiring a part-time VA, it’s a longer more full-time commitment which will make a huge difference in the productivity of the business.

Four:  Setting up the systems
Setting up the systems for your business to operate smoothly will include roles and responsibilities, doing some strategic planning and goal setting so that you can have goals and KPIs for your staff. It's quite a different level to have people that you are asking to do things than it is to have people who are actually responsible for certain outcomes and they need to report back to you and they have to meet their own performance indicators.

I used to think it was totally overwhelming to think about having staff to manage and hire, but I when you hire the right kind of people at that level, you have people to work with and people who are going to help you take the business to the next level because they are just so good. That's where you start and the systems will help you keep track of it and know what you need next.

Five:  Scaling Marketing
The biggest difference between the marketing at $1 million versus the $100k level is that you're investing a lot, not just time, but also money. To get to six figures it probably has taken a lot of time and you've probably spent some money here and there, but you probably aren't spending crazy amounts of money quite yet.

Aiming for the million dollar mark requires scaling at a whole new level and that's investment in marketing. Investment in marketing requires confidence. It requires faith in your offers, your systems, and your support. Now you need to start really outlaying the money to reach way more people.

Six:  Thought leadership
The sixth step to get to $1 million is showing up more consistently with thought leadership. Now you get to really speak up because the more you speak up with your mission and your message, the more you will be able to get in front of people and get referred more quickly.

Now is the time to write that book or create that new channel or leverage new relationships or even take some high level mentoring opportunities on that you couldn't have before because you just didn't have time. This is how you can start to build a more passive income eventually because you've got some things going already and now you're showing up to the world as someone to be watched.

Hey there. I know what it's like to try and fail over and over again. I've been through all the mindset ups and downs, feeling like a failure and wondering why it's so hard to attract amazing clients consistently.

I finally realized, more recently that I'd like to admit, I was still hiding. I was afraid to put my work into the world in case no one wanted it. What I really wanted was for someone to say, "hey you, your stuff is great, come share it with my audience".  Finally I realized that that would never happen, not until I started first.

Putting out my content and message into the world had to begin with me. I  committed to showing up consistently and building my own meaningful relationships. The result? Much more clarity about how to gain visibility and grow my brand. And, of course, THIS PODCAST which I'm thrilled to host!
