
In this episode, I'm going to tell you why I don't think mass marketing will work for every kind of business level.
We're all seeing millions and millions of posts and ads and tactics about funnel building this and list building that and advertising here. I do think it works for some level of business, but I believe that it does mostly for the big million dollar business levels way more than the smaller ones.
When you're trying to get the next sale and the next sale and perhaps actually a bit beyond that because maybe you're focused on how to move people into specific kinds of sales and offers, then you need to be really intentional.
I talk about how connecting with people is actually going to make a bigger difference and most of those marketing tactics out there won't do that for you.
Especially because most entrepreneurs don't have enough data about their audience. They don't know enough about what they're thinking. And they don't know exactly what they're doing for them or they're not willing to commit to doing less for people.
That's where positioning comes in.
Positioning is about communicating your value so that people understand what you do, who it's for, and they get excited to go the next step.
Positioning is the thing that everybody needs before marketing.
If you don't feel confident in your brand, in your message, in your IP - the unique thing that you do for people - and maybe you don't even know your ideal clients super clearly, then I want you to put a halt on marketing!
In this episode I'll tell you how to position your brand. Here are some starter points:
- Decide who you help the best.
- Discover the transformation you deliver for people consistently.
- Declare it using the language that's going to resonate with your ideal client.
- Embark on a personalized outreach campaign to begin building awareness around your offers.
- Show up consistently.
I also explain that until you know you have something that's naturally getting bought or you have a system to sell it, why you shouldn’t spend the money on marketing because those things start to get expensive.
