The Role of Thought Leadership in Building a Client-Attractive Business

How often do you think about your impact?

I felt like it was time for me to start thinking about impact again instead of being solely focused on revenue and the things that I actually sell. My recent trip to Atlanta for the She Podcasts conference re-kindled this spark for me.

Thought leadership isn't just about business … it’s about impact.

And it's about influence in a way that isn't always directly related to making a sale. If you think about all the people who you might follow or respect or admire in the world, a lot of them probably aren't even people who you buy from.

But they’re memorable and their words affect us and cause us to think or act differently.

As we become more experts and authorities in our field, or at least masters of certain areas, we begin thinking about them a little bit more deeply and more intellectually. And that's a lot of fun.

There's so much fun to be had in looking at things from a really objective perspective and not always with the goal of selling something at the end. This actually makes us more powerful and appealing.

In the end, we're probably able to spread our ideas further and that often leads to more purchases of something.

Online business owners can begin to think about how they're creating impact and allow that to guide them towards their best thoughts and are boldest messages. They can start to talk about the things they really care about without holding back.

And I think that's a really great way to go out and lead ourselves and lead our businesses.

In this podcast I share:

  • The definition of a thought leader.
  • How thought leadership is a smart strategy to grow a profitable business because it requires specialization and passion.
  • Why striving for influence based on what you truly believe will make the whole journey more rich and rewarding.
  • How to trigger and stimulate more leading thoughts back into our business.

There's a lot of benefit to nurturing this side of yourself and in your business so that you can not only grow as a business or grow as a person, but you can create growth that you can count on because it's not fleeting, it's real, it's strong, it's what you're all about.

Hey there. I know what it's like to try and fail over and over again. I've been through all the mindset ups and downs, feeling like a failure and wondering why it's so hard to attract amazing clients consistently.

I finally realized, more recently that I'd like to admit, I was still hiding. I was afraid to put my work into the world in case no one wanted it. What I really wanted was for someone to say, "hey you, your stuff is great, come share it with my audience".  Finally I realized that that would never happen, not until I started first.

Putting out my content and message into the world had to begin with me. I  committed to showing up consistently and building my own meaningful relationships. The result? Much more clarity about how to gain visibility and grow my brand. And, of course, THIS PODCAST which I'm thrilled to host!
